Vernonscope 1.25" Filters

Vernonscope filters are made with anodized aluminum metal housings and permanently engraved with the Kodak Wratten number of the color of the filter.  All Vernonscope filters are threaded to fit on Brandon eyepieces.  To fit on non-Brandon eyepieces, just add an adapter (See Adapter page). Price per filter is $45 including shipping. 

30 Magenta Filter

This is our most popular filter, excellent for bringing out reds of Mars and increasing contrast on greys, such as the bands of Jupiter.


Sky 1A Filter

The Sky 1A filter absorbs a small amount of UV light and adds a slight warmish tone to the view.




12 Yellow Filter

The #12 filter is useful when observing Mars, Saturn, and Jupiter. It brings out yellows and orange tones, and reduces blues and greens.




15 Dark Yellow Filter

The #15 filter enhances orange and red features.  It is useful when observing Venus, Mars, Saturn, and Jupiter.




21 Orange Filter

The 21 orange filter useful when observing the Moon, Mars, and Mercury.



23A Light Red Filter

The 23A filter is useful when observing Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn.




25 Red Filter

The 25 filter is useful when observing Mars, Jupiter, and Venus.




47 Dark Blue Filter

This filter is useful when observing the Moon and Venus, Mars, and Jupiter.




56 Light Green Filter

This filter is useful when observing Mars, Saturn, Jupiter, and the Moon.




58 Green Filter

This filter is useful when observing Mars, Venus, Saturn, and Jupiter.




80A Blue Filter

This filter is useful when observing Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and the Moon.




85 Salmon Filter

This is our second most popular filter, after the #30 Magenta filter. It is useful for observing Mars, Saturn, and Jupiter.



ND3 Neutral Density Filter

This is the lightest of our three neutral density filters, with 50% transmittance.  It is useful for viewing the Moon.




ND6 Neutral Density Filter

This is the middle darkness of our three neutral density filters, with 25% transmittance. It is useful for viewing the Moon.



ND9 Neutral Density Filter

This is the darkest of our three neutral density filters, with 12.5% transmittance.  It is useful for viewing the Moon.



Polarizer Filter

The polarizer increases contrast and brings out details. It is useful for viewing the Jupiter, Saturn and the Moon.
